Tip 25: If you see people camping an enemy spawn location, like a red CRU, do not cap it. Just camp and enjoy the kills. You're depleting the other side's clone reserves.
Tip 26: If the enemy team is camping a spawn, call it out. Also, do not spawn on the camped location.
Tip 27: Always move. This is true for all FPS games. Don't stop moving to shoot (maybe unless you're a sniper). You'll just get wtf owned.
Tip 28: Aim for the head, especially with weapons like scrambler pistols. The damage modifier is different for different weapons. For instance, scrambler pistols do 450% more damage to shields for a head shot and 350% to armor. If you're going against someone who aims for your torso, you should win if you are shooting them in the head. Also, if you kill another player with a head shot, that player cannot be revived by a teammate with a nanite injector.
Tip 29: Try to avoid noob weapons like shotguns. Even though you might get kills, your gun game will not improve. The exception to this might be if you are going for vehicles, and have put all of your points into vehicle related skills. A shotgun at close range can destroy a swarmer or forge gun.
Tip 30: Be ISK efficient. Earn ISK. If you find yourself running low on ISK because you keep losing expensive gear, do not buy expensive gear until you are a better player.
Tip 31: If you suck, and your clones are low, do not spawn. You shouldn't feel bad about dying, but you are just hurting your team if your team is in danger of getting cloned.
Tip 32: Join a good corp. Bad corps will give you bad advice. Be weary about corps who only pub stomp in good gear and avoid doing corp battles against good corps.
Tip 33: If you're a gunner in a tank, do not shoot the tank with the turrets. Turrets are for shooting other players.
Tip 34: If a tanker is using small militia turrets, you should not use them. You should be more effective on the ground, or fulfilling another role. Tankers may not put good turrets on their tank for PG/CPU fittings. A good tank is better than a good small turret. They also might get blown up all the time or just be using a standard tank, and you don't want to get in a tank like that. Some tankers do not like people in their tank. Personally, I usually like to have nice turrets on my tank.
Tip 35: If you are in a small turret, and other players are attempting to blow up the tank, it is sometimes a good idea to get out of the tank and kill them. If they have swarms, they'll only have a sidearm to use against you. Also, most AV players focus on the tank, and are easy kills for people on foot. This is one of the advantages to having a tank on your side, but it only helps if you use it.
Tip 36: If a tank is damaged, and you have an armor repper, you should repair it if you can. Most reppers only work for armor, so you won't be able to give them additional shield. There are shield reppers too, but those are best on vehicles. Unfortunately, the logi vehicles cannot outrep even militia AV damage. That is a big reason why there aren't many logi vehicles in games. It's usually more helpful to just have another HAV on the field, but sometimes a logi LAV is helpful. I know shield tanks really <3 those guys with remote shield boosters in LAVs.
Tip 37: Many players only go for kills. Some simply get kills while going for objectives. You should be one of the players who gets kills while going for objectives.
Tip 38: You're a blue dot and everyone hates you. Don't expect to be helped or saved.
Tip 39: If you are a team player, most players will still not help or save you. This is why everyone hates blue dots. Just because they aren't doesn't mean that you should stop being a team player. If you help others play, you will be picked up by a good corp. Then you aren't a blue dot anymore.
Tip 40: If you solo queue, check and see if you are squad leader. If you are, hold R2 and then press down on R3 (the plunger). A menu will appear with different options. The best option is to select the defend command. Look at the other members in your squad, and place the defend command on the best player in your squad by pressing R1. This gives you extra points, him extra points, and you'll make everyone happy. If you can't keep track of this, give squad leader to someone else. The defend command needs to be reapplied if the player who has it dies.
Tip 41: If a tank is blowing up a supply depot, do not hack it. Tanks do that because the other side will use them to their advantage. You might gain something by hacking the depot, but the tank gains something if the depot is gone. Tanks are usually more valuable for the team than an individual player.
Tip 42: If the other side has a tank, make sure you use the supply depots to your advantage. He is a noob for not blowing them up, or had ****** blue dots on his team who captured the depot so he cannot destroy it. Yes, this means that the enemy tank can blow it up, but it also means that you can use it. It's useless if the other side controls it, so even if you control it for a short period of time, that is better than not controlling it at all.
Tip 43: Objectives are more important than supply depots and turrets. Sure, you might get some wp for hacking that depot, but you're not helping your team as much as you could be. You'll just be another bad blue dot.
Tip 44: Most advice and "tips" on forums will make you a bad player. I know this statement is ironic, but if you're a starting player you should ignore most of it. So far, I believe that most of the tips in this thread are helpful, but it is definitely better to listen to your corp if it is a good one. |
